JANUARY 2022
January is officially over! Fans will remember this one to be rather hectic, despite the fact that it didn't really start picking up until the 8th, but it was a month that dedicated fans most definitely deserved. BEYOOOOONDS fans did not have a great 2021 to say the least. Our beloved Satoyoshi Utano details in her December blog post that it was a frustrating year that left much to be desired.
So.. did BEYOOOOONDS start the year right?! (sources say yes) Let's look at the timeline.

It's really a dream come true: BEYOOOOONDS will finally receive their dream stage at Nippon Budokan! The words can’t be expressed any better than Takase Kurumi in her celebratory blog post, partially translated here.

December 25th - 3rd SINGLE REVEAL (not listed)
The wait is OVER! After several excruciating months of what felt like inactivity and neglect, BEYOOOOONDS are finally back to work to come back with more music. Those final months of 2021 were met with rage and frustration, so bad that some members voiced their frustrations themselves, and on December 25th, it was finally over. The single is scheduled for release on March 2nd, exactly 364 days since their last single. As a bonus, the video includes shots of the members holding ham cutlets in front of a green screen. And as of writing this, the MV has released. Do we know what any of it means? Uh, yeah, vaguely.Check it out!
January 2nd - “Hamkatsu Mokushiroku” first performance reveal at Hello! Project 2022 Winter "LOVE AND PEACE"
The first title of the new single and the very first performance! The song title, meaning Ham Cutlet Apocalypse, sent shockwaves around the world. Concert reports reveal that the song combines the words “Ham katsu” (Ham cutlet) and “mukatsuku” (how annoying!) to express the anger surrounding life’s minor inconveniences.
January 3rd - “Eiyuu ~Waratte! Chopin Senpai~” first performance reveal…
Another weird title (translating to "Hero ~Smile! Sir Chopin~") that is undeniably connected to the piano aficionado Kobayashi Honoka. More to come.

January 6th - Shop listings confirm that 3rd single is Double A
Combined with the lack of unit songs that have been included in the past three releases, the fact that this single was to only include two songs disappointed some fans. At last, in 2022, BEYOOOOONDS reach not just one, but TWO significant Hello! Project group milestones. After their first tour scheduled in 2020 was canceled due to COVID spread in Japan, BEYOOOOONDS became a group without a single solo tour on their belt for three entire years. January 21st - Chopin Senpai MV released
A grand celebration of everything BEYOOOOONDS, “Eiyuu ~Waratte! Chopin Senpai~” takes the initial oldies song cover concept and goes all the way back to the 19th century. A music video that encompasses a humble coming of age story, epic theatrical masterpiece, and the indescribable feeling of “BEYOOOOONDS”.We encourage you to watch it a million times.

She also mentions how she made fried eggs for the first time in a while. Super cute: She used to wake up early in the morning to make eggs for her sister.

Yamazaki Yuhane blesses the world on BEYO-NOBI radio! Yuhane talked about her nickname, Nippon Budokan, and answered audience messages (very obviously Kiyono Momohime). She wants to be called Yubaaba, and recently she's super into caramel sweets!
And that's a wrap on the timeline! It's pretty safe to say that this month was the perfect start for BEYOOOOONDS. February is already revving up to be even crazier, so stay tuned!

In this episode of Hello! Project's ongoing YouTube series centered around funny stories, Ichioka Reina appears to tell of her shopping trip with her mom that got a little weird. Icchan always walks with her mother arm-in-arm. After unlinking arms with her mother to pass the ticket gate at the train station, she relinks to find out that she had been talking to a complete stranger (again, arm-in-arm) for several minutes.

One would think that Shimakura Rika's Spider-man love would take a little break, but this is Rika-chan so it's not really in the field of possibility. Takase Kurumi won "Twintail day"
Celebrated on February 2nd, the popular otaku holiday "Twintail Day" celebrates the ever so popular hairstyle. What wasn't expected was that Takase Kurumi would participate this year, dominating the competition.

Closing
Before we actually do the closing, here are a few things to look forward to besides "Hamkatsu Mokushiroku":
